Kia Electric Vehicle

As many car brands have announced their plans to go all-electric in the coming years, many consumers have waited for Kia to reveal if they also plan to follow suit. Kia has recently announced all of the vehicles they manufacture will be electric by 2035. This change will first take place in Europe before all-electric models are sold in the U.S.

Currently, Kia plans to have its models attain carbon neutrality by 2045. The three pillars that need to be established for Kia to reach this goal include creating sustainable energy, a sustainable planet, and sustainable mobility. The supply, logistics, and operational facets will gradually change as the automaker works hard to reduce their carbon footprint on the environment while still meeting the high demand of their customers.

The entire line-up of cars sold by Kia will eventually become electric and powered by batteries that can be charged in-between use. The Concept EV9 is an electric vehicle that was recently previewed by Kia. It has a similar design to the Telluride but features a bolder and more futuristic exterior. Ultimately, they are in the process of working to become a Sustainable Mobility Solutions Provider in the auto industry.

Similar auto brands that are planning to only sell electric vehicles in the future include Cadillac and Acura. Some car brands like Toyota are still skeptical and still plan to sell gas-powered models on the market.

By 2026, Kia plans to have 11 electric vehicles in its line-up to ensure consumers have plenty of options with more than one body type available to choose from. Seven of the 11 electric vehicles will be constructed with the E-GMP platform by Hyundai. Although Ho Sung Song, the CEO of Kia, has been vocal about their plans to produce all-electric vehicles, they're now moving at a faster pace and are releasing the vehicles a year sooner than they originally anticipated.

Two different electric versions of Kia models are currently available on the market, including the Kia Soul EV and the Niro EV. Four different electric versions of their line-up will be available in the coming years. Kia hopes to sell models that have a driving range of 300 miles, which is highly competitive compared to other EV models that have recently become available to consumers. The charging time will be close to 20 minutes, but Kia will continue to release additional details in the coming months.
