Kia has a strong history of supporting meaningful causes across the United States, and now they've added another impactful initiative to their legacy. On March 21st, Kia announced a new partnership with The Nature Conservancy—a respected organization dedicated to freshwater conservation and global environmental improvement. While Kia has long been involved in environmental and community efforts, this marks their first collaboration with The Nature Conservancy.
Investing in the Future of Freshwater
Together, Kia and The Nature Conservancy will support projects focused on strengthening water infrastructure and reducing the risk of environmental disasters. Nicole Silk, Global Director of Freshwater Outcomes at The Nature Conservancy, emphasized the importance of this work: “Water is the lifeblood of the planet and rivers, lakes. These systems are feeding communities, shaping cultures and sustaining the diversity of life on earth.”
Kia America shares that passion for preservation. Russell Wager, Vice President of Marketing at Kia, echoed the sentiment: “Water is one of our most precious resources, and we have a responsibility to protect it for future generations.”
Kia’s Commitment: More Than Just a Donation
As part of this new initiative, Kia will contribute $3 million to support The Nature Conservancy’s ambitious goal—protecting 1 million kilometers of rivers and 30 million hectares of wetlands and lakes by 2030. While The Nature Conservancy leads the scientific efforts, Kia remains actively involved by supporting the mission, learning from the experience, and helping raise awareness.
Drivers who choose Kia can feel proud knowing their brand is committed to making a positive difference in the world. The partnership officially launches on World Water Day, a symbolic moment to begin a long-term effort to protect vital freshwater resources. It’s one of many environmental initiatives Kia has embraced—and certainly one of the most significant.
