What's New for the 2018 Kia Sportage?

The Kia Sportage is back for 2018, and if you loved the major redesign of the 2017 model, then you'll be happy to hear that many of those great features are back again. In fact, this year's model is only a slight redesign of its predecessor. What really sets the new model apart is that many of the features once considered optional now come standard. Additionally, some options only available in the top-of-the-line SX Turbo trim are now included in the lower LX and EX trim options. Kia has never been one to skimp on features, and that philosophy remains unchanged with the new Sportage!

The familiar LX, EX, and SX Turbo trim options have returned for the 2018 model, but all three include standard amenities that include rear-camera display, Bluetooth connectivity, automatic headlight control, USB/auxiliary inputs, and LED daytime lights. If you're buying on a budget, the entry-level LX trim is a smart option that still has plenty of features to keep your driving experience smooth and comfortable. This style includes a five-inch touchscreen display, auto-down windows for the driver's side, remote keyless entry, and a six-way adjustable driver's seat. However, what really makes the LX trim a winner is its superior fuel economy compared to the EX and SX Turbo options. It clocks in at 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway*. The mid-level EX trim offers a notable bump in features for those looking for an even better driving experience. It comes with a seven-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, blind spot detection, lane change assistance, keyless ignition, and leather trim seats. Fuel economy for the EX style is 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway*. For those that want the ultimate Sportage experience, the SX Turbo trim is the way to go. With it, you'll have access to an eight-inch touchscreen, voice command navigation, parking assist, and autonomous emergency braking. The SX Turbo gets 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.

Torque for the SX Turbo comes in at 260 pounds-feet, while the LX and EX have a still-respectable 175 pounds-feet of torque. If you're looking for power and acceleration, the SX Turbo is the way to go. Between these engine options, you're sure to find the car that is right for you.
