What's New For the 2020 Kia Rio?
The Kia Rio is a subcompact car that initially debuted in the United States in 1999. The car has had a lot of different body styles over the years, but the current fourth-generation Rio is a four-door sedan. The current version of the Rio has been around since 2017. While the car has received a few minor tweaks over the last four years to improve the overall driving experience, no significant changes were made to the Kia Rio entering the 2020 model year.

2020 Kia Rio Trims & Features
There are three different trim levels available for the 2020 Kia Rio. The LX Sedan, S Sedan, and S Hatchback. The LX Sedan is the base model. Upgrading to the S Sedan will get you a few extra amenities, including cruise control, front armrests, remote keyless entry, and three additional exterior paint options.
If you want a little extra cargo space, then the S Hatchback is the choice for you. In addition to all of the great features found on the S Sedan, the 2020 Kia Rio Hatchback offers nearly 20 extra cubic feet of maximum luggage volume. This additional storage space is provided without sacrificing passenger comfort.
2020 Kia Rio Horsepower
All three versions of the 2020 Kia Rio come with the same engine. The new subcompact sedan from Kia features a 1.6-liter inline-four engine that delivers 120 horsepower and 112 ft-lbs of torque. While you will never confuse the 2020 Rio with a sports car, this is plenty of power to handle your everyday driving needs.
The best part about driving the new Rio is its excellent fuel efficiency. You can expect to drive approximately 33 miles per gallon in the city and 41 miles per gallon on the highway on a single tank of gas.
Kia Rio Safety
Kia is widely renowned around the auto industry for making extremely safe family vehicles, and the 2020 Rio is no different. The body has specifically been designed to absorb damage and protect the driver and passengers in a collision. The six airbags and seat belt pretensioners also help keep you safe in an accident.
While you will always be protected, the best way to stay safe on the road is by avoiding collisions. Luckily, the 2020 Kia Rio has a few high-tech features to make this easier, including traction control, electronic stability system, and a low tire pressure warning system. All of these safety features helped get the Kia Rio named a "Top Safety Pick" by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
