What's New For The Kia Telluride?

The 2020 Telluride is an all-new midsize compact crossover. It's the biggest crossover that Kia has ever produced, with more passenger and cargo space than anything else in the Kia lineup. You'll also love its long list of standard features. And, as you climb the trim hierarchy, this crossover gets seriously stylish. Upscale features will make you feel like you're cruising around in a plush European SUV - even though it is one you got for a great price.

2020 Telluride Trims & Features

Telluride shoppers can choose from four trim models: the LX, S, EX, and SX. The base LX is loaded with features, including a long list of high-tech safety aids and infotainment gear. Inside the LX, passengers can settle into stylish simulated leather upholstery. Throughout the Telluride's three rows of seating, there are three USB ports to keep everyone's devices charged. Up front, the standard infotainment setup includes an 8-inch touchscreen and complete smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

When you upgrade to the Telluride S, you'll enjoy increased interior comfort and a little extra exterior panache. Inside, heated front seats and second-row captain's chairs offer coziness on a cold day. The sunroof and 20-inch wheels increase the Telluride's style levels.

Next up is the EX, a Telluride trim that's loaded with luxury items. That means leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and three-zone automatic climate control. The front doors feature acoustic glass for an even quieter ride. Besides wrapping you in stylish comfort, the EX also saves you time with high-end convenience features. These include a hands-free liftgate, keyless entry and ignition, and an extra USB charge port for a total of six throughout the cabin. Even the infotainment system gets the luxury treatment, with a 10.3-inch touchscreen. The EX also comes with the Telluride's driver amplifier and Quiet Mode features. The former amplifies your voice over the rear speakers, so no one back there can pretend like they can't hear you. The latter turns the rear speakers off when it's naptime.

Finally, there's the all-out SX, a Telluride trim that builds on all of the above features with a long list of stylish details. Outside, the SX catches eyes with its LED headlights and foglights. Its dual sunroofs do more than illuminate the cabin - they make the space feel gigantic. After the sun sets, interior ambient lighting sets the mood. The premium 10-speaker Harman Kardon surround-sound stereo treats you to a world-class audio experience. The SX also adds to the Telluride's standard safety lineup with a blind-spot camera system and automatic high beams.

2020 Kia Telluride Horsepower

2020 Kia Telluride Exterior FrontEach of these midsize crossover SUVs comes standard with the same powertrain. Their 3.8-liter V6 engine produces 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, which is plenty of power for navigating off-road trails and towing heavy loads. This V6 is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It's quick to respond to your input, but it also gives you impressive fuel mileage at high speeds. If you've got a big boat at home, you're in luck. Properly equipped, the Telluride can tow max loads of 5,000 pounds.

Kia Telluride Safety

2020 Kia Telluride Exterior RearNone of the Telluride trims lack safety. Many high-tech driver aids, designed to help you spot danger, are standard equipment. These include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a system that has the potential to help you avoid an accident completely. Every Telluride also gets a lane keeping assist system to keep you from accidentally straying outside the white lines. There's also a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, to help you pull out of parking spaces and switch lanes on the highway with no problem. We're also big fans of the driver drowsy system. It scans you for signs of fatigue, and it tells you when it's time to pull into the nearest rest stop.
