2021 Kia Soul

What's New For the 2021 Kia Soul?

Consider the 2021 Kia Soul and its boxy design with a spacious cabin if you desire an exceptional vehicle. The interior appearance is quite distinct and ideal for a stylish look. The latest Kia Soul provides a gas-powered four cylinders engine and an electric battery option in the Kia Soul EV. While the Kia Soul carries over much of last year's redesigned features, the driving experience still features eccentric design, affordability, and stylish appearance to make it stand out.

2021 Soul Trims & Features

The rear occupant alert is a significant improvement in the Kia Soul. It alerts a driver if the rear seat has an occupant through a beep or a phone message. This comes in handy for security purposes. Additionally, there is an improvised new shock valve in the GT-Line and X-Line trims that improve the riding experience. The X-Line appears rugged with a green painted undercover and a black plastic cladding. The GT-Line has bright red accents at the exterior for a sportier appearance. As a minor enhancement to the 2021 EX and Turbo models, Kia has incorporated a remote start feature. The 2021 Kia Soul model also offers plenty of driver-assist features, such as automatic emergency brakes, lane-keep assists, blind-spot monitors, and cross-traffic alert at the rear.

The Kia Soul EV receives much of the updates found on the gas-powered Soul. The latest active safety features offered in the Soul EV include automatic emergency braking, active lane control, and blind-spot monitors. Amenities focused on comfortability, including a 10.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and a six-speaker audio system.

Kia Soul Horsepower

The base engine is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which delivers up to 147 HP and 132 LB-FT of torque. Under the standard driving conditions, the Soul performs well and impressively from zero to 60 mph in 8.0 seconds. When there is a need for additional passing power, the base engine and CVT automatically selects lower gear ratios.

Alternatively, the 2021 Kia Soul also offers a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that can output up to 201 HP turbocharged with an automatic seven-speed transmission. The Soul has an EPA fuel economy rating that could go up to a combined 31 mpg in the city and on the highway. The Kia Soul EV has an increased battery power of 64-kWh and was rated by the EPA for 2020 to return 243 miles of electric range. For 2021, we can expect to see similar ranges, around 230 to 250 miles of range.

2021 Kia Soul Safety

Notable safety features offered in the 2021 Kia Soul include Smart Cruise, forward collision-avoidance assist, blind-spot collision warning, lane-keep assist and rearview monitor with parking guidance. For the Soul EV, you'll find new driver-assist functions, similar to the gas-powered Soul features, like adaptive cruise control and driver attention warning system to alert of abnormal or drowsy driving habits.
