What's New for the 2022 Kia Sportage?

In 2022, the Kia Sportage gets an expanded list of features that come with its various packages, including the LX Value Edition package. There are some changes to the lineup as well, with the Nightfall Edition replacing the S trim that was previously in the 2021 lineup. The EX trim level has some specific updates, including the addition of a panoramic sunroof as a standard feature.

2022 Sportage Trims & Features

The Sportage is a small SUV that comes in four trim levels. The lineup starts with the LX, followed by the Nightshade Edition, the EX, and the SX. Features vary by trim level, but all trims come with the option of one of two drivetrains. Features on the LX include standard 17-inch wheels with an alloy finish. The LX has a sound system with six speakers, and it has an eight-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A USB charging port is standard with this trim level, and it has an audio system with six speakers. The back seat folds and reclines, and there is a rear privacy glass that provides shade and privacy when needed. The new Nightshade trim has stealthy black exterior accents and larger 18-inch alloy wheels with a dark gray finish. Fog lights are standard, and the Nightshade also has roof rails. The side mirrors are heated on this trim and power-folding. Interior upgrades include simulated leather seating and a leather steering wheel. With the third trim, which is the EX, you'll get alloy wheels with a machine finish and a hands-free liftgate. The EX also has heated front seats and a USB charging port in the back row. The gear shifter is wrapped in leather along with the steering wheel, and you can enjoy dual-zone climate control. The SX Turbo has its own engine and some additional interior and exterior features, including larger brakes, LED headlights, and black roof rails. The infotainment system is upgraded with navigation, and you'll also get a satellite radio. A wireless charging pad comes with this trim as well, and the upholstery upgrades to leather seats.

2022 Kia Sportage Horsepower

All trims of the 2022 Sportage have a six-speed transmission, and you can choose between front-wheel and all-wheel drive. The base engine has a power output of 181 HP and a 2.4L displacement. The SX Turbo has a 240 HP engine with four cylinders.
