What's New for the 2023 Kia K5?

A few changes were made to the 2023 Kia K5's lineup. Last year's entry-level LX trim has been discontinued. Furthermore, only the GT-Line trim can now be equipped with an all-wheel drive.

2022 K5 Trims & Features

Kia offers the new K5 in five trim levels: LXS FWD, GT-Line FWD, GT-Line AWD, EX, and GT. Even the LXS FWD trim feels quite luxurious. Its modern multimedia system features an 8.0-inch touchscreen display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity. LED headlamps help ensure maximum visibility at night. Other highlights include a hands-free Smart Trunk, dual-zone auto climate control, and push-button start.

Another step up the trim ladder is the sportier-looking K5 GT-Line FWD. It comes equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels and LED taillights. On the inside, you'll find a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation. A flat-bottom sports steering wheel helps create a more exciting atmosphere for drivers. Other goodies consist of a 10-way power driver's seat with power lumbar, wireless phone charging, and upgraded upholstery.

While the GT-Line AWD trim is similar, it's geared towards folks who plan to travel out of town during the winter. Aside from a traction-enhancing AWD system, it also brings heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.

The EX trim is a bit more upscale. Heated and ventilated front seats further elevate comfort. Passengers can also enjoy its panoramic sunroof.

Atop the range sits the more powerful GT trim. Its 19-inch alloy wheels bring an especially racy stance. Front sport seats and paddle shifters add to the fun of the K5 GT.

2022 Kia K5 Horsepower

There are two powertrains available for the 2022 Kia K5. Most people will be perfectly pleased with the performance of the sedan's standard 1.6-liter, turbo four-cylinder engine. It pumps out an enjoyable 180 horsepower. An eight-speed automatic transmission enhances the K5's responsive nature. Driving enthusiasts seeking peak output will want the GT trim's 2.5-liter, turbo four-cylinder engine. It raises the fun meter by pumping out 290 horsepower. A tested 0-60 mph time of 5.7 seconds puts the K5 GT among the swiftest models in the class.

Kia K5 Safety

Every new K5 receives confidence-inspiring Kia Drive Wise safety technologies. Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind-Spot Detection all come standard.
