What's New for the 2018 Kia Cadenza?

The Cadenza is Kia's flagship and entry to the full-size luxury sedan market. It is a high-tech haven for buyers who desire a high-end vehicle with a not-so-premium price tag. Kia builds the Cadenza for so many things but comfort is its most prominent quality. It provides above-average space for all occupants, a premium cabin, a calm disposition, ample power, and lots of storage space.

2018 Kia Cadenza Interior

Kia gave the Cadenza a major overhaul for the 2017 model year that included chassis improvements, exterior styling updates, and an expanded equipment list. However, last year's refurbishment did not stop the automaker from making a few changes for 2018. Apart from adding several optional features, Kia fits the Panoramic Sunroof package containing LED interior lighting, a power sunshade, and a large glass sunroof into the base trim's Luxury package.

Kia Cadenza Features and Trims

Kia avails the 2018 Cadenza in three trim levels: the base Premium, the Technology, and the Limited. The Premium is impressively-equipped for its price tag and can be further upgraded with most of the Technology trim's features.

Standard equipment on all Cadenza models includes 18-inch wheels, heated mirrors, a rear-view camera, fog lights, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, hands-free trunk opening, and keyless entry and ignition. Also complimentary are leather upholstery, a 7.0-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-speaker audio system, HD and satellite radio, two USB ports, and Bluetooth capability. The fronts seats are heated, eight-way power-adjustable, and include lumbar support.

Additional features on the Premium trim come through the Luxury package which is home to a premium 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a panoramic sunroof, LED cabin lighting, power-folding mirrors, rear cross-traffic alert, a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen, navigation, advanced blind-spot monitors, and rear parking sensors.

The Technology trim ups the ante with a myriad of superlatives on top of the standard features and the Luxury package's contents. It adds 19-inch wheels, automatic wipers, a power-adjustable steering wheel with heating, LED headlights and foglights, and paddle shifters.

Others include ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, and driver-seat memory settings. The front passenger benefits from two-way lumbar adjustment while the 10-way power driver's seat doubles that.

The Limited provides what you would otherwise have to pay a fortune to get in other brands. It bundles all the Technology model's features then adds a head-up display, a power-operated trunk lid, upgraded leather upholstery, a power rear sunshade, side rear sunshades, and heated rear seats.

At an EPA-rated 20 mpg city, 28 highway, and 23 combined, the model's fuel economy is above average and competitive for its segment. Moreover, toggling the drivetrain between Eco, Sport, Comfort, and Smart modes rewards you with tailored steering and throttle responses.
